Kierra Holiday, LICSW, LCSW-C Founder & CEO

Kierra Holiday is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Founder and CEO of District Counseling, a boutique mental health practice serving adults in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. With over 13 years of experience in the mental health and social services field, Kierra has dedicated her career to providing quality, accessible care to individuals who are ready to do the real work of healing and growth.

Kierra earned her Bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University and her Master's in Social Work from Howard University. Her clinical background spans nonprofits, child welfare, healthcare, foster care, criminal justice, schools, and direct therapy — giving her a deep understanding of the systems her clients navigate and the unique barriers they face in accessing quality care.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning she draws from a variety of evidence-based techniques — including CBT, Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered modalities — and tailors her approach to each client's unique needs. Kierra prioritizes creating a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe enough to do real, meaningful work. She is passionate about helping people move beyond survival and into a life that feels full, intentional, and joy-filled.

Beyond the therapy room, Kierra is committed to expanding access to mental health support on a broader scale. She leads community events, wellness groups, programming, and panels — including international work such as a mental health panel in Ghana — bringing mental health conversations into spaces where they are most needed and most often missing.

District Counseling was founded in 2019 out of a deep belief that successful outcomes are always linked to the quality of care a person has access to. Kierra built this practice to be that quality — for the curse-breakers, the high achievers, the surviors and everyone in between who deserves a space that was actually built for them.
